Rather than bribing 100 Senators, Lobbyists and Large Donors would have to spread their budgeted bribes over thousands of state legislators and fear Bribery prosecution from 50 different states and thousands of local jurisdictions compounding their cost of “lobbying” the Senate for preferred national legislation that much more costly..
We understand that running a Senate campaign is costly after the 17th Amendment, but is shouldn’t cost a dime. There is a limit number of state legislators and they can run their own election scheme, just as long as the legislature picks their Senators (2). This way each state truly has representation…
